Devices and Mac OS X version

  1. Open up VLC Media Player. Go to View Playlist CTRL + L. On the left under Local Network, click on Universal Plug’n’Play. You’ll see a list of files or streaming networks listed on the left. Browse through them and right click on them to Play, Stream or Add to Playlist.
  2. Step 1: First of all you need to open VLC player on your system and then move to Media Menu available on top left corner of your software screen. From the drop down menu, simply select Stream option. Step 2: Now hit the Add button if you are ready to select your media files for streaming.

Add IPTV channels to VLC player. Time needed: 3 minutes. ADD IPTV CHANNELS TO VLC PLAYER. Enter M3u linkAfter installation go to File Open network and paste the m3u link in URL or press CTRL+N ( Command + N in MAC OS X) and enter m3u link in URL section.

VLC media player requires Mac OS X 10.7.5 or later. It runs on any Mac with a 64-bit Intel processor or an Apple Silicon chip. Previous devices are supported by older releases.
Note that the first generation of Intel-based Macs equipped with Core Solo or Core Duo processors is no longer supported. Please use version 2.0.10 linked below.

Web browser plugin for Mac OS X

Support for NPAPI plugins was removed from all modern web browsers, so VLC's plugin is no longer maintained. The last version is 3.0.4 and can be found here. It will not receive any further updates.

We provide older releases for users who wish to deploy our software on legacy releases of Mac OS X. You can find recommendations for the respective operating system version below. Note that support ended for all releases listed below and hence they won't receive any further updates.
